I have decided to support a fundraising appeal for Cancer Support WA, Walk for Wellness - Great Wall of China Challenge 2014.

I have always loved a challenge. Participating in this trek along the Great Wall of China is my way of giving thanks for the blessings given to me in the form of good health and fitness throughout my life, in particular over the last several years. 

Many of us have been touched by cancer in our lives. I have lost dear friends to cancer and have friends currently undergoing various forms of treatment. Having access to the services that Cancer Support WA offers, gives valuable assistance to people with cancer and their carers. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in late 2007 and was fortunate to have caught it early. I attribute the successful outcome of this life experience; to being physically fit, early intervention and good medical care. In addition I believe the complementary therapy I received before and after my surgery was another significant factor which led to a successful recovery. Therefore I am a strong advocate of the services offered by Cancer Support WA.
